GoXLR and OBS Configuration

This is the setup that I use. This allows me to control the audio that comes in through my headphones with the GoXLR sliders, and control individual channels in OBS. This allows me to have different audio levels in my ears, vs what goes out to the stream. This is different than using the stream mix because what ever you set your sliders on the GoXLR is the same levels that goes out to the stream. The GoXLR has 5 virtual audio cables in windows.

Discord

I explicitly set the Input and Output device directly in the app when the app supports that. Discord is an example of that.

Windows App Sound Settings

I change some apps to use specific audio channels when they don't have their own options to change it.

OBS

I first start by adding a new scene to OBS. This scene will only have the GoXLR audio channels. I call the scene GoXLR.
To add your Microphone, right click in the sources section of the GoXLR scene, and select Add -> Audio Input Capture. Simularly, to add output channels, like system, select Add -> Audio Output Capture.
Name the device, and select the specific device you want to add. DO NOT use Default. Check the box Use Device Timestamps. Click OK.
After you add all your devices, your Audio Mixer in OBS should look something like this (yours might be horizontal, as I have the setting to show them vertically enabled). All of the levels set here are levels specifically sent out to the Stream. The levels on the GoXLR are levels that come out your headset.
Next I add the GoXLR scene to my other scenes. To add it, just click on Add Source button and select Scene. Select your GoXLR scene.

Settings

In OBS Settings, choose Audio and make sure you disable all of the Global Audio Devices that OBS has enabled by default. If you have these devices added to any scenes, be sure you delete them.
In advanced audio properties, make sure they are set to Monitor Off. Additionally, I use Track 6 for VOD audio track. That way music does not get saved on my VOD.
Here is the OBS settings for the VOD track:
